Custom glaze development
A color nobody else can order.
Bring us a photo, a swatch, or the paint on your bar top. We run test tiles across three firings until the color survives cone 10, then name the recipe for you and retire it from the public lineup. Nobody else gets to order it.
You pay on a full-page Stripe-hosted page, in USD. Your card number never reaches this website.
Who needs their own color
Restaurants, cafés, and anyone whose color is not Tenmoku, Celadon, Bone Speckle, or Ember. If one of those four will do, it comes with every form at no upcharge, and you can keep your $127.00 USD.
What $127.00 USD covers
INCLUDED
Developing the recipe to your brief, the test tiles and firings, naming it for you, and keeping it off the public lineup. We will never sell pieces in your glaze to anyone else, and we will never publish the formula.
NOT INCLUDED
The pieces themselves, which are priced from the published price book. Ownership of the formula: the recipe stays with the studio, and what you buy is exclusive use of it. Reduction firing also gives the flame a say, so pieces in your glaze will vary, as all our pieces do.
From paying to done

Press pay and finish on Stripe's page. Add your quote ticket reference if you have one.

Send your reference
We email your reference number. Reply with your photo, swatch, or paint chip.

Confirm the next steps
We confirm the next steps within two business days.
- 4.
Tiles, then pieces
We run the test tiles across three firings. Your run then follows the kiln calendar: 6–8 weeks standard, 3–4 weeks rush, counted from deposit plus written specs.
What you walk away with
A glaze only you can order, under your name. We keep the recipe on file and adjust it if raw materials change, so your color stays yours.
Pickup is at 101 Bennington St, East Boston, Thursday through Sunday, 11–6. Boston-area drop-off is $20.00 USD, free on invoices of $500.00 USD or more.
If you change your mind
Change your mind before the first test tiles go into the kiln and we refund the full $127.00 USD to your card. Once they are fired, the fee is final. Questions first? Call or write and a person answers. The full rules are below, and they are the same ones we use at the counter.
